Mom's Clam Sauce

7 oz. minced clams
1/4 cup Olive oil
1/4 cup butter
3 cloves minced garlic (3/4 tsp garlic powder)
2 TSBP chopped parsley
1/2 tsp salt
linguine noodles, cooked

1) Drain clams, but keep all the juice; set the juice aside.
2) Heat oil and butter.
3) Add garlic and saute for 3-4 minutes; remove from heat
4) Stir in clam liquids, parsley, and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring periodically.
5) Reduce heat, and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
6) Add clams and simmer for 3 minutes.
7) Pour over cooked linguine and combine.
**Delicious with grated parmesan, romano, or asiago cheese

  1. Do you add clams in step 4 or step 6? which one is the clam juice and which is the meat?
